NEW TO Faith Temple?
Pastor W.C. Kenan and Lady Bertha Kenan planted Faith Temple Church in May 1973, with 33 charter members. He dreamed of building a church with a simple goal: reaching those far from Christ. With the help of people committed to seeing that dream fulfilled, the church has experienced significant growth.

LEAD PASTOR
Born in North Carolina, he attended medical school at the Hampton Institute in Hampton, VA, before serving a four-year term in the Air Force. During his military service, he found a calling to Christianity, and his commitment to serving God has become renowned. He is known for his talent in strengthening the ministries of the places he has worked. He has refurbished several churches, constructed two churches on the Navajo Indian reservation, and played a significant role in helping other churches become debt-free.
Upon arriving in Midland, Pastor Kenan became one of the first Black pastors to have his ministry televised. Around the same time he established Faith Temple, he also created and executed the Spiritual Explosion, an annual event that has led many to Christ and provided solace for countless others. Pastor Kenan has held various roles within the Church of God in Christ and currently serves as the Pastor of Faith Temple COGIC in Midland, TX.
He and his late wife, Lady Bertha Kenan, worked together for many years to bring people to Christ, and the impact of their ministry continues to unfold. Pastor and Lady Kenan have four children - Sharnette Kenan, Dr. Sheryl James (Minister Steffron James) - Pastor of Destiny Church, Shanda McWilliams (Elder Michael McWilliams - Pastor of Dominion Word Ministries C.O.G.I.C), and William Cersle Kenan II (Camesia Kenan) - as well as seven grandchildren.)

When you visit our services, you'll receive a warm greeting from our welcome team. You'll enjoy vibrant music, inspiring worship, and meaningful preaching from the Bible. Inside, you can choose where to sit in our comfortable sanctuary.
Our congregation includes people from all walks of life with different styles of dress. The service lasts about 90 minutes. You'll enjoy vibrant music featuring a mix of contemporary and traditional gospel, inspiring worship, and meaningful preaching from the Bible.
We offer children's church for youth 2-11 years of age on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.

The GOAL of FAITH TEMPLE CHURCH is to teach, train, and present Holiness as given by God in His Holy Word. This will be accomplished through prayer, fasting, and the teaching of the Word of God.

Evangelism, Worship, and Discipleship.
